Man, wanted on sex charges in St. Vincent, held by Grenada police

A Vincentian man who is wanted for a series of sexual offences, has been caught in Grenada.

On September 9, the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) issued a wanted bulletin informing the public that Bentley Francis/Phillips of Rillan Hill was wanted in connection with a series of sexual offences which occurred between 2018 and 2019.

The next day, the RSVGPF advised that Francis/Phillips had been detained in Grenada and was awaiting deportation to St Vincent and the Grenadines.

The Grenada Now publication reported that Grenada police confirmed that Francis/Phillips was caught at 12:20 am on September 10 on Central Depradine Street in the town of Gouyave in the western parish of St John. No information was shared on how he was caught.

Police did not confirm whether or not he entered the country with or without the permission of an immigration officer. Anyone entering the country without the permission of an immigration officer is in violation of the immigration law and is immediately subject to deportation.

According to Grenada Now, Francis/Phillips is being held at the Gouyave Police Station.

The RSVGPF thanked the general public for their usual co-operation, “as we partner in the fight against crime.”
