Anesthesiologist and General Surgeon Join the Staff at Milton Cato Memorial Hospital
The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment welcomed two additional medical specialists to the staff of the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital. Under the coorporation agreement between St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Cuba an Anesthesioloogist and a General Surgeon joined the staff on October 2nd, 2017. This serves to strengthen the delivery of healthcare services in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Honourable Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment, Luke Browne, was on hand to welcome the physicians as they prepared to commence duties.
Minister Browne thanked the doctors and Cuba for coming to SVGâs assistance in response to official requests at a critical time. He said that the arrival of the two highly qualified medical professionals is a âsignificant development in the operations at the hospital and should be applauded.â Browne added that the hospital is now in an even better position to efficiently perform surgeries, make life saving interventions and give effect to the governmentâs policy of Health for All.â
The Minister further stated that his Ministryâs mission and mandate is to secure, as best as possible, all the human resources and other resources required to take care of the health needs of the population. He ended by saying that the appointments represent a step in the right direction.
