Contracts for slope stabilisation in Troumaca being finalized
The government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) is currently finalizing contracts for the execution of slope stabilisation works at the English Gutter and German Gutter areas in Troumaca.
The works are expected to cost XCD 3.1 million and will comprise the construction of drains, retaining walls, and re-vegetation to maintain the stability of the slopes. Work is expected to commence in the third quarter of 2017 and take approximately eight months to complete.
The works are funded by the government through a loan from the World Bank and are two of the activities being implemented under the Regional Disaster Vulnerability Reduction Project (RDVRP). The project is supporting SVGâs efforts to prevent and adapt to the effects of climate change.(API)
