Trump’s deportation

EDITOR: The executive order by President Trump to deport immigrants can affect us and the Caribbean.

Many immigrants worked on farms, doing baby sitting, walking dogs and working in stores just to name a few. This will mean if they are deported, then these jobs would have to be taken by Americans. It means that the Americans would have to be paid much more than the immigrants and in some cases twice more and with social security. So, the cost of production will go up and as a result the cost of products will rise.

With that being the case, it means we would be paying more for goods and services. As a result, we would see goods rising, thus, making the cost of living higher.

It would be more difficult to migrate, so, there would be a decrease in migration and with the return of more nationals it can aid in increase crime and a rise in unemployment.

This is something the political parties must consider and put plans and programmes to address these issues that would arise from deportation.
