The American Presidential Election
Editor: The victory by Donald Trump at the presidential election is one that is not greeted with joy in the Caribbean and by many non -whites living in USA. I am not a supporter of Donald Trump, but his victory did not surprise by me.
In Daniel 2: 21 we are told that God sets up kings and brings them down. So regardless of how we feel, the Lord set up Donald Trump as President for His purpose. This should be a lesson for us, that regardless to how we may feel about a party or a politician it is the Lord who sets up and brings down. Therefore, whoever wins the election in SVG when it is called and whoever becomes the Prime Minister, it is the Lord’s doing for His purpose. I know there are many reasons we offer why Trump should not have won and I realize that there are many predictions as to what will happen and many fears by those undocumented persons living in USA.
However, here are my two cents on his victory. Speaking from a Christian stand point, it is fair to say that America went down and continue to go down a path away from God to the extent where they were committing abomination as a nation. I am speaking directly, where Gay marriage and abortion are legal. To add insult to injury, a child has a right to choose his or her sex gender, so that someone who is born a boy can choose to be a girl and vice versa, and also where a person can choose to be neutral gender.
Abortion is legal murder to children. Murder we know is a wicked act. So is abortion. So when a nation can travel down that road of wickedness and abomination they are inviting the wrath of God. We know that it was the Democrat who played a major role in those to make them legal and made it illegal for someone to refuse to marry homosexuals. Whereas, President-elect, Trump is against those aforementioned. It is therefore, in my estimation looking at it from a biblical position, that because of such path taken by the Democrats that they had to lose the election, which means that the president would be a Republican. I know there are more negatives spurring about than positive concerning his election to the presidency. Finally, God gives the type of government we deserve. If Trump turns out to be bad president, it is because they deserve that and also since America would lose its prominence as a world power, then who knows, maybe it is one of the reason why Trump is elected since it is believed that he will make America fall rather than being great again. However, time will tell concerning his reign as president. Whatever views we take, the Lord has set him up for his purpose.
