Where is humanity? Is ‘the Home of the Brave’ now afraid? What has become of Arab Solidarity?
EDITOR: All these are relevant questions in light of the continuing carnage and wilful slaughter in the Middle East, in full view of the whole world, thanks to modern communication. What would have been the reactions if, for instance, Syria had started to bomb the hell out of a neighbouring state?
Or if, Venezuela tired of counter-revolutionary plots and attacks across its borders, were to launch a military counter-offensive?
The hypocrisy of the world has gone beyond all understanding where events in the Middle East are concerned. Why do we have a United Nations with all its various arms, if Israel is allowed to flout them at will, to ignore the decisions of UN institutions and to have a man accused of being a war criminal and murderer lead its people and the rest of the world into a war nobody, but Netenyahu wants?
Why are we all so silent? And what has become of Arab solidarity? Can’t those Arab nations, pockets lined with trillions of petro dollars and armed to teeth, even utter a whimper of dissent, of protest, of solidarity on behalf of their sisters, brothers and children in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon? Even whisper, a whimper of dissent? Not even that!
The USA boasts that it is the “Land of the Brave” but how come it is cowed by Israel, a country completely dependent on it, for the weapons of mass terrorism, for political and diplomatic support?
The world is truly in a dangerous place. May heaven help us, if it is so disposed!
