Flow, we need better service!
EDITOR: Communication companies play a very important role in that they give the opportunity to give and receive information. Utility companies also play a very important role in giving us electricity and water, which are two of the basic necessities of life.
After the passage of hurricane Beryl, both VINLEC and CWSA did and continue to do a very fantastic job. For this they must
be complimented. I had written about them previously, thus no need to elaborate. FLOW on the other hand as a communication provider has and continues to fail us, the customers.
There are persons in many rural communities who are without their services, amongst them, Internet for well over three weeks. The company is aware of the situation and their excuse is that they have a backlog of cases. So, in the meantime those customers must be without Internet and other services offered by them.
The sad thing is that many customers Internet is not a luxury or a want, but a need. School is about to reopen and universities have already opened and many persons have to use the Internet for the purpose of their studies. There are also those who need to use the Internet to conduct legitimate business and are now without that services for the longest while. The attitude of some of the workers at the Company when a fault is reported is poor. There are also some customers who through no fault of theirs have been disconnected. It is not that bills are not paid, but rather even though the bill is being paid it is still registered at the company as owing and so disconnected.
While for some customers their services are down, yet they are given a bill and required to pay for a service they are not getting. Indeed these aforementioned unresolved issues are real and it shows the lack of respect FLOW has for its customers. It is also highway robbery to still have to pay the full bill with no rebate even though you are without service. The bad thing is that you cannot refuse to pay your bill and not be disconnected, yet for these long periods a customer is without service and still have to pay. What a company! Well we have very little choice because no one cares and no way of redress.
