Delinquency! don’t legalize it!

EDITOR: The influence of evil is stronger than the influence of good. More and more we are placing children in positions to make choices where they often choose unwisely.

We know that 15-year-olds are not sufficiently mature to give consent, yet we adults preserve this legal means of child abuse.

Rather than having to choose from among physical games or books to read, many are handed electronic gadgets that often have the effect of numbing their senses and making their brains lazy.

The effect of legalizing certain intoxicating drugs gives young people the impression that they can use them indiscriminately. The consequence is that by so doing, they are exiling themselves from many job opportunities that require a drug-free environment. These may include sports, military, Civil Service, security, private businesses and even construction Unionised employment overseas.

The addiction brought on by the action of these young people seems to have them in a stupor. Their lost condition should be recognized as a cry for salvation. Their learned helplessness is exacerbated by their inability to think and reason logically. Many ask, “Who will save them?” The Bible answers, “how shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?” Hebrews 2:3-4.
