Where is Heaven? Is it on Earth?

EDSITOR: Time and again people are debating the above questions. Some say heaven is on earth. Others say heaven is somewhere above the earth. Still others are not sure.

What does the Bible REALLY teach? Read Jesus’ words at John 3:13 and John 6:38. In both verses Jesus said that he “came down from heaven.” Thus, the scriptures show us that heaven is ABOVE the earth. Heaven is NOT on the earth.

John 3:13 adds that “no man hath ASCENDED UP to heaven.” ‘Ascend’ means to ‘go up’, as the verse itself indicates. When Jesus was about to pray to his Father, John 17:1 states that he “LIFTED UP his eyes to heaven”.  Concerning Jesus’ journey back to heaven, it is no wonder that Acts 1:9-11 uses expressions such as, “He was taken UP; and a CLOUD received him out of their sight”. “They looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went UP,” and “why stand ye gazing UP into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken UP from you into heaven.” All these expressions in the three verses prove that heaven is above. In fact, the Most High himself, Jehovah, (Psalm 83:18) says at Isaiah 55:9, “For as the heavens are HIGHER than the earth.”

Will we dare to doubt the Most High, our Creator, when He said that Heaven is higher than the Earth? So, if asked the question, where is heaven, we know how to answer with solid scriptural evidence.
