Openly carrying cutlasses in public should be banned
Editor: I just came back from St. Vincent and I was very surprised to see how many men were carrying cutlasses, even some who appeared to have some kind of mental problem.{{more}}
Why are these kinds of things allowed? Where I was staying in Prospect, two men on different days passed me with a cutlass. I was so frightened. One was talking loudly to himself and also dragging the cutlass on the road. That alone is scary.
In my opinion it should not be allowed. In Canada it is a weapon, and a person will be charged for carrying a weapon like that. I am wondering if St. Vincent has laws against carrying cutlasses so openly, scaring people.
I think that is why so many people get killed. It is readily available to the criminals.
I read about these things almost every week in the papers online. It is very sad.
