Don’t wait until it’s too late!

Editor: I read with great interest the article by Sir Ronald Sanders, âWhat Will Save Our Caribbean Rumâ. Also, Renwick Roseâs âAnother Dagger in the Backâ. What are our islandsâ governments going to do?{{more}} Are they going to wait until, once again, it is too late? Are we going to lose this vital foreign exchange earner? Also the jobs that will be lost throughout the islands?
Over the past years in St. Vincent, since the 1950s, we have lost Sea Island cotton (the best in the world), arrowroot, sugar, and bananas (Green Gold). Will we allow rum to suffer the same fate, or will we follow the lead of the Dominican Republic? One effort alone is not enough. Please let us act at once.
