Quality of Miss SVG Pageant very poor

12.JUNE.09

Editor: I am a Vincentian living in a foreign country but happened to be in my beloved homeland for the first time in years to witness a carnival show, the Miss SVG Show. I invited a number of friends with me to experience the much talked about Vincy Mas in Caribbean circles.{{more}} I arrived in the park 15 minutes before the start of the show which was expected to begin at 8 p.m. The show started at the top of the expected hour, I was surprised and amazed as well. It was the first time I attended a show that started on time in the Caribbean. I must give kudos to the stage manager. The show ran smoothly, with only minimal time in between acts. There is improvement and I am well pleased.

The quality of the show was another thing, very poor. It left me to wonder if those girls went to school, and I am not trying to embarrass anyone, but even the regular patrons were annoyed. It left much to be desired. Maybe it is time for CDC to do something about how they go about ensuring a good quality product for our money!
