Remembering Shirley Francis
Mrs. Shirley Francis neeâ Williams died last Saturday 12 February at the St. Clair Medical Centre in Port of Spain, Trinidad.
She was an outstanding Civil Servant who began her career as a teacher at the Questelles Government School at the age of seventeen years. After spending a short while teaching, she was transferred to the public service where she worked at the Inland Revenue Department; Ministry of Education; Services Commissions as Chief Personnel Officer and finally as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Shirley Francis, 52, was hardworking and conscientious and a role model to many. She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband Lennox, three sons, a daughter-in-law, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, many relatives and friends.
