Police give vehicle owners more time to comply
The Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) has extended the time period for owners of motor vehicles to take remedial action on their vehicles so they can be in full compliance with the traffic regulations.
The Traffic Department, on Thursday, April 10, 2025 said that motor vehicle owners and operators have been given until the end of this month, April, to make the necessary adjustments. The previous deadline was April 3, 2025.
In March of this year, the RSVGPF issued a statement requiring motor vehicle owners and operators to comply with the regulations regarding tinted wind shields, license plates, insurance, passenger load of minibuses, coloured and piercing headlights, and amplified music.
The police statement outlined the current laws in place to guide individuals on how these issues should be addressed and sought full cooperation.
The initial period of compliance was Friday, March 21, to Friday, April 3, given by the Commissioner of Police in his capacity as the head of the licensing authority. The extended deadline to April 30, now has given violaters a few more weeks to make the necessary adjustments.
To ensure compliance, the RSVGPF has increased patrols across the State and issued notices to non-compliant drivers. Meetings also were earlier held with stakeholders to ensure that they are all aware of the regulations.
