Participants get three-in-one training in film, fashion, at fine arts workshop

Fifteen creatives recently underwent a three-day workshop aimed at building branding skills in fine arts, film making and fashion.

The workshop titled ‘The Imaginative Branding Programme: A Film, Fashion, Fine Arts Entrepreneurship Workshop’ brought together creatives from various sectors at the UWI Global Campus in March under the instruction of industry professionals, Akley Olton, Shawnte Browne and Colin Browne.

Speaking at the closing ceremony on Thursday, March 27, 2025, workshop coordinator, Shanique Stewart, Visual Arts Development Officer in the Department of Culture emphasized the need for creatives to be well-versed in digital storytelling.

“This programme was designed to transform creativity into captivating digital storytelling. In today’s world where visuals speak louder than words, the ability to tell a compelling story through film, fashion, and fine arts is more than a skill. It is a necessity. Whether you are a fashion designer shaping fashion narratives, a fine artist capturing culture on a canvas, or an entrepreneur looking to expand your brand, this workshop is a stepping stone.”

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Civil Aviation, Dr Tamira Browne spoke of the potential in this area of enterprise.
