Male entrepreneurs given special focus with CED business project

Male entrepreneurs in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) are being offered support in business development with the goal of building up the local small business sector, believed to be a first-time effort.

When the programme was initially conceptualized by the Centre for Enterprise Development Inc., General Manager, Ronette Lewis revealed that the organization experienced significant challenges sourcing males.

She spoke at the project launch on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at the NIS Conference room, where she noted that the response was vastly different to programmes launched for women.

“This development plan is the first of its kind in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG). We have not had any initiative that is directly related to the development of male entrepreneurs in St Vincent and the Grenadines, the CED is now executing this in 2025.,” Lewis stated.

“It wasn’t easy finding the males. When we put out promotions for a project, females come knocking down our doors. But we couldn’t find any males.”
