Twenty-three year-old Police Constable, 105 Enrico Castello, emerged as the top Detective in the Criminal Investigation Department of the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Force (RSVGPF) for 2024. The announcement of this honour was announced at the Department’s annual Awards Ceremony on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Police Headquarters, Kingstown.

Detective Castello, successfully managed 103 cases and made 53 arrests. He was described by Superintendent of Police and Head of the C.I.D. Clauston Francis as: “ A young Constable, small in stature and of quiet disposition, but incredibly effective and efficient”.

“ He is a fast learner. He is steady, focussed and loves his job. He is always in my face like a little tiger. He speaks slowly, with a smile, exposing his bracers. I am so proud of him,” Superintendent Francis added.

“I am honoured and humbled to have received Friday night’s award as Top Detective at C.I.D for 2024. It has motivated me to continue to work harder, persevere, and inspire others reminding them that through hard work and persistence, one can achieve their goals and dreams,” the young detective told SEARCHLIGHT following the awards ceremony.

“ Receiving such a prestigious award has made me feel a sense of pride, responsibility to encourage and mentor others within the police force and beyond. This could involve sharing my knowledge, experiences, offering guidance and demonstrating the values and behaviours that earned me the award. Most importantly, it helps build trust within the community that I serve.”
