Tourism Authority CEO says PATWA awards will do good for SVG

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the St Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority (SVGTA), Anette Mark has described Minister of Tourism, Carlos James, as a dedicated visionary, who is actively driving the growth and sustainable development of tourism in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) and across the Caribbean region.

“I have always said that holding the portfolios of Tourism and Sustainable

Development is a natural fit, as both are essential to fostering a responsible and thriving tourism industry.

“The work of his ministry has not gone unnoticed globally, as is evidenced by the numerous awards, articles, and accolades recognizing St. Vincent and the Grenadines in recent times,” Mark said.

Her words of praise have come as Minister James has been recognised  by the Pacific Area Travel Writers Association (PATWA)

International Tourism Awards Council for the ‘Excellence in Governance-Sustainable Tourism Award’, and while under his leadership, SVG has been bestowed with PATWA’s accolade of ‘Destination of the Year-Eco Adventures’.

“I am personally overwhelmed with pride and excitement that this prestigious award is being bestowed upon our Minister and in effect St Vincent and the Grenadines. On behalf of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority, I extend heartfelt congratulations to him for his unwavering commitment to the development of our tourism sector and for continuously elevating St. Vincent and the Grenadines as the premier eco-destination in the Caribbean,” Mark said.

She stressed that the SVGTA, along with the Ministry of Tourism, promote and market the diversity of the country as the most diverse Caribbean destination.
