SVG receives over US$75,000 in school and relief supplies from Hands Across the Sea
Hand Across the Sea, a US-based NGO last Tuesday, February 25, 2025, handed over a quantity hurricane relief supplies, and over 300 books for use in schools across St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).
Hands Across the Sea, in collaboration with the Mustique Charitable Foundation (MCF), holds a 17-year-old partnership with the Ministry of Education (MoE) where they have donated over 140,000 books to schools and community libraries.

Making remarks at the National Public Library in Kingstown, where the hand over took place, Hands Across the Sea’s Literacy Link, Enna Bullock, explained that the MoE receives a shipment of books yearly. This year, however, they decided to donate “world-class books and library supplies to 18 selected schools. The retail value of this donation is US $21,465,” Bullock said.
Five primary schools, 11 secondary schools, and the schools for children with Special Needs in Kingstown and Georgetown will benefit from this donation.
“…we have made a significant investment in special needs and remedial support. We have two special education collections, and eight remedial reading sets, all of which have been hand-picked to aid struggling learners and eager educators,” Bullock explained.
In addition to assisting with the book stock, the NGO has made a donation of education relief supplies, which includes 3,358 new books to be provided to children who were affected by Hurricane Beryl, along with a variety of school supplies such as pens, clipboards, envelopes, scotch tape, markers, rubber bands, and other stationery items.
