‘Next person house you go in you might not come out alive’ – Magistrate warns

A teenager, who stole two cellular phones from guests in his father’s home, was warned by a Senior Magistrate that the next house he enters, he might not come out alive.

Jeremy John, 21 and Zimran Cupid, 17 of Belmont and Clare Valley respectively, appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court before Senior Magistrate, Tammika McKenzie on February 26, 2025, where they were charged that on February 21, 2025 at Clare Valley, they stole one iPhone 11, and one Samsung S20 Ultra, belonging to Samantha Job of Barbados/Clare Valley.

The facts are that Job is a Barbadian national who has Vincentian relatives. On January 1, 2025, she arrived in St. Vincent and was staying at Cupid’s father’s home in Clare Valley.

On February 21, 2025 at about 10:30 p.m, Job was at the house preparing to go to bed. She took her son’s red iPhone 11 and placed it on the dresser located next to the bed, and then went to sleep.

Around 12:27 a.m the following day, Job awoke, picked up her red Samsung S20 Ultra to check the time, then placed it on the floor and went back to sleep.

At about 6:00 a.m, the same day she woke up and saw that both phones were missing. She made checks about the house, but did not find the phones.
