German woman loses her life at Mt. Wynne

A 58 year old German lost her life when she apparently drowned at the Mt Wynne beach, and the Police said they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The Police said in a release that Petra Ortlepp was swimming with friends at the popular beach around mid-day on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, when she was later seen floating face down in the water. Efforts to revive her were unsuccessful.

Medical personnel arrived at the scene and pronounced her dead, and authorization was given for the removal of the body.

A postmortem examination is expected to be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
