Farmer pleads guilty to multiple traffic offenses
A 34 year old farmer of Calder pleaded guilty to multiple traffic offenses when he appeared at the Colonaire Magistrate’s Court on February 21, 2025. Keison Pompey, who was the driver of a motor vehicle with registration number P-1572, was charged for driving the vehicle without valid third party insurance; and for failing to wear his seat belt; and not having his driving permit on his person. The police said the offenses were committed at Mt. Young on February, 19, 2025, the day they arrested and slapped him with the traffic violations.
Pompey was reprimanded and discharged on the seat belt charge; for not having his driver’s permit in his possession, he was fined EC$150 forthwith or two weeks imprisonment in default.
For driving without insurance in respect of third-party risk, Pompey was fined EC$600, of which EC$300 was required to be paid forthwith and the remainder by March 21, 2025, in default of which he will serve a one month prison term.
