Rose Place woman receives suspended sentence for ammo possession

A mother who resides at Rose Place was given a suspended sentence after she pleaded guilty to possessing 10 rounds of live ammunition.

Dianza, and her sister Keticia Dublin appeared at the Serious Offences Court before Senior Magistrate, Colin John on February 17, where they both were charged that on February 16, 2025 at Rose Place they had in their possession 10 live rounds of .22 ammunition without a license issued under the Firearms Act.

Dianza, a 34 year old caretaker, pleaded guilty to the offence. Keticia, a 33 year old Auxilliary Police Office of Cemetery Hill, Kingstown, denied the offense and the charge against her was withdrawn.

The facts are that about 2:30 p.m on February 16, 2025, Sergeant 403 John and a party of Rapid Response Unit (RRU) personnel, including PC 468 Forde and PC 60 Lampkin went to Dublin’s home at Rose Place armed with a search warrant.

On arrival, they met Dublin and her sister, Keticia. Sgt 403 John showed and read the search warrant to them. He also identified himself and a party of RRU personnel who were dressed in uniform, and informed both occupants of their duties.

A search was conducted on both women by PC 60 Lampkin. However, nothing illegal was found. A search was then carried out inside a bedroom in Dianza’s presence.

PC 468 Forde found 10 live rounds of .22 ammunition in a transparent plastic bag that was inside a blue hand bag hanging from the bedroom wall.
