Man on bail for alleged theft of salami and cheese

A Paul’s Avenue resident has been granted bail on charges of theft and possession of controlled drugs. A police report states that 60 year old Joel Garrick was arrested and charged for allegedly stealing one Roberts Danish Cooked Chicken Salami valued at EC$30.51; and one tin of Tastee Cheese, valued at EC$5.75, a total value of EC$36.26—the property of Massy Stores, Kingstown.

Garrick was also charged with possession of 7.8 grammes of cocaine with intent to supply to another.

The police said the offences were committed in Kingstown on January 29, 2025. Garrick appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate Court on January 30, 2025, and pleaded not guilty to the charges. He was granted bail in the sum of EC$1,000 with one surety. He is to report to the Central Police Station every Tuesday and Friday between 6:00 a.m and 6:00 p.m.

The matter was adjourned to October 10, 2025.
