Public Servants receive third portion of three-year salary hike this month
The Government has delivered on its commitment of salary increases for public servants, all of whom receive another 2.5 per cent increase on their salaries from the end of this month.
Budget Analyst in the Ministry of Finance, Anson Latchman, said Wednesday, January 29, 2025, that all grades have seen a “remarkable” increase.
This follows increases over the last two years, 2.5 per cent in 2023, and two per cent in 2024 in keeping with the provisions of collective agreements signed with the workers’ bargaining units.
This increase is across the board, and is reflected in all grades. Therefore, if a public servant is due for an increment this year, they will receive an additional 2.5 increase on the increment as well.
“In 2023, a public servant at the Grade F scale would start with annual remuneration of $48,108 with a maximum of $62,436. In 2025, a public servant starting in the same grade would start at $50,292 and reach the maximum of the grade at $65,268.
“This is a reflection of the seven per cent increase across the three years,” Latchman explained.
For nurses, nursing assistants and nursing aides, this increase is in addition to receiving five per cent on their salary as supplementary income, extending beyond the first six-month period proposed.
