Police following multiple leads in death of Vincentian/Canadian

Speculations are rife over what may have led to the murder of Glenroy Fraser, a 38-year-old sub-contractor of Questelles and Montreal, Canada who is alleged to have been shot in the head.

Fraser, popular on the holiday party scene in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), became this country’s 54th homicide. His body, bound hands and feet and shot, was found around 2:00 a.m on Saturday, December 28, 2024 in a rental Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) that went over an embankment in Kelbourney.

The death of the energetic party-goer, well known locally by promoters and disc jockeys, may be seen as a red flag for visitors and residents as it goes against the claim by law enforcement and some government officials, that the persons being targeted for homicides here are known criminals.

A December 28, 2024 press release issued by the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) states, “reports indicate that in the early hours of December 28, 2024, at approximately 1:30 a.m., police were informed that a vehicle had been spotted over an embankment in Kelbourney.

“Upon promptly responding to the scene, police discovered Fraser inside the vehicle, with

his hands and feet bound and an injury to the head.”

The report went on to state, that “personnel from the Crime Scene Unit processed the scene and surrounding areas. Several exhibits were retrieved, including a spent shell, and the SUV, which is reportedly a rental vehicle”.

Fraser was pronounced dead by the District Medical Officer (DMO), who was summoned to the scene.

“A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death,” the release also states. The police said the “ investigation remains ongoing”, and they are urging anyone with information that can assist to come forward.

Shortly after Fraser’s death was made public, several persons began making assumptions on social media about the demise of the flamboyant dreadlocked man, known for wearing several pieces of gold jewellery.

Fraser’s death was also followed by the release of a voice note where it was alleged that the man heard in the recording arguing with a woman and who appeared to have eventually struck her while she screamed, was Fraser. A relative of Fraser later confirmed that it was in fact Fraser in the recording, but the voice note stemmed from an incident last July during the Carnival celebrations here, and not over the weekend as persons were claiming.

Reports surfaced on Monday, December 30, 2024 that investigators had detained a female and she was being questioned in relation to Fraser’s death.

SEARCHLIGHT contacted a young lady who claimed to be Fraser’s girlfriend, but she declined to comment; a cousin of the deceased man also refused to comment on the incident.

However, a Montreal based Evangelist known as Ronelle wrote on Facebook, “They kill our Canadian brother and think it’s going to be free, so. We give them seven days, or fire will fall on their house”.

Several other Facebook users also commented on the demise of the fun-loving Fraser, among them someone using the name Aka-princess Rudiie who wrote, “sweetest soul, most kind hearted person y’all can have around…we was the LIFE OF THE PARTY…just find the Hennessy Bottle and you find Glen…”.

The Police are investigating several leads, among them that there might be video footage of Fraser leaving an event he attended shortly before his demise.
