Independent candidate to vie for West St. George in next elections
The next general elections is expected to see the introduction of several new candidates, including Kenna V. Questelles.
Questelles, in a recent press release, revealed that she is hoping to run as an independent in the West St. George constituency.
The upcoming elections are constitutionally due by 2025, and Questelles, who has described herself as an entrepreneur and management professional, said she has been flying the Vincentian flag high for many years.
She said she was born in Middle Road, Belair, and raised in Fairbaine Pasture so is not a stranger to West St. George.
“As someone who has always been passionate and intentional about making positive changes in society,” Questelles is confident that she will “be able to bring about the changes that West St. George needs.” She noted in the release that “it is time for less talking and more action”.
Questelles is no stranger to politics. In 2022, she became the New Democratic Party’s (NDP) Women’s Arm Vice President, and also has served as the Pro-Tempore President of the West St. George Women’s Group of the party.
She claims to be no longer affiliated with the NDP, and understands that West St. George has been neglected for a long time an assessment which seems to have influenced her decision.
