The minivan accident claimed the life of 31-year-old Olando “Lando” Davis of Richland Park and injured Owia residents, Brandon Gonsalez, a 29 year old mechanic; Gonsalez’s mother, Sherry Sutherland-Adams; and his sister, Shaunell Adams.
The accident, being investigated by The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF), took place around 5:00 a.m, when the green Toyota Hiace passenger van, registration HA-42, driven by Gonsalez, and travelling from Owia to Georgetown, went over an embankment in an area located between Point Village and Old Sandy Bay known as Boat Bay.
The police, in a press release, said the minivan, “encountered mechanical difficulties, veered off the roadway, and went over an embankment” and the van’s conductor, “died at the scene”. The bus accident was one of two that day each of which claimed the life of one person.
