Isaiah ‘Rich Gang’ Antrobus shot and killed in Glen
Recordings that were making the rounds on social media at the weekend showed a man lying dead in a pool of blood on a main road in Glen with gunshot wounds to the head.
Redemption Sharpes resident, Isaiah “Rich Gang” Antrobus,23, was the person in the video, he having been shot and killed in the East St. George community around 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2024.
His death took the murder count in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) for 2024 to 52.
Antrobus, who dropped out of Secondary School in form three, is being seen as a casualty in an ongoing feud between warring gangs from areas including Glen, Murray’s Village, Paul’s Avenue, Rose Place/Bottom Town, Edinboro, and Ottley Hall.
The feud has reportedly left several persons dead over the years, and is a major issue for law enforcement.
On Sunday, persons close to Antrobus wondered what he was doing in Glen seeing that he was close to enemies of persons who operate in that area.
Following the shooting death of Villa resident, Martin “Jahson” James on Saturday October 5, this year, Antrobus was detained and questioned by law enforcement but was released without charge. James is said to have frequented the Glen area and associated with several youngsters known for violence.
James was shot multiple times and died on the spot; his death was the 39th homicide recorded here for 2024.
After James’ death, it was speculated that his shooting would serve to prolong a street war that some thought had ended with the death of Jawanza “Sanga” Fraser who was shot and killed on Friday, September 20, 2024 in Paul’s Avenue.
One of Antrobus’ former teachers described him as “very” intelligent with a passion for soccer. He was said to have a love for fast cars was involved in multiple crashes. The young man also was said to be close friends with Dondre “Young Rich Nigger” Hillocks, who was killed in a drive-by shooting on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.
Hillocks, of Belmont; Lamont ‘Dutchie’ Hector of Paul’s Avenue; Jamal ‘Dutty’ Bobb of Ottley Hall; Rickie Taylor of Long Wall; and Kashie Primus of Rockies, died in the mass shooting while liming in the Harbour Club area of Kingstown.
In March 2012, Antrobus was highlighted in a SEARCHLIGHT article for winning the Spelling Bee competition as a member of Hibicus House at the private primary school he attended.
