Bus conductor accused of rupturing woman’s ear drum

A 24-year-old bus conductor of Belair was arrested on December 6, 2024, and charged with the offense of serious bodily harm.

A release from the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF), said their investigations reveal that Onez John, unlawfully and maliciously struck a 31 year old janitor of Mckies Hill to her right ear with his hand, causing her eardrum to rupture.

The offence was alleged to have been committed on November 15, 2024, in Mckies Hill. John appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate Court on December 6, 2024, and pleaded not guilty to the charge. He was granted bail in the sum of EC$2,500 with one surety. He also has been ordered to report to the Calliaqua Police Station every Thursday between 6:00 a.m and 6:00 p.m, and stop signs have been placed at all ports of entry and exit. The matter is adjourned to March 2, 2025.
