Minor Charged in Arson Attack

A minor who is charged with grievous bodily harm was remanded when he appeared in court on Monday, November 11, 2024.

The police said in a report that on November 9, 2024, they arrested and charged the minor, said to be a labourer of Belmont with the offence which is alleged to have been committed the previous day, Friday,November 8, 2024.

The police said the minor is alleged to have thrown kerosene oil on the back of another minor, a female also of Belmont, and setting her on fire.

The accused youngster appeared before the Serious Offences Court on November 11, 2024, and pleaded not guilty to the charge. He was remanded.
