More money for SET Programme beneficiaries

The Supportive Education and Training (SET) programme has received a boost of finances and personnel from the government.

Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, said 320 new, qualified applicants, have been approved for employment under the programme as of November, 2024.

He made this announcement as he delivered his Independence Day message on Sunday, October 27, 2024, noting that the SET programme is designed to provide recent graduates of universities and the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVCC) with relevant work experience through assignments in the Public Service, Statutory Corporations or Not-for-Profit organizations.

Gonsalves said also that graduates of the SVCC will receive an increase of $200 monthly on their existing stipends, and those who are university graduates will receive an increase of $300 monthly.

The current SET employees- over 200, have had their tenure extended until December, 2024.
