Headstart Preschool celebrates Independence with cultural events

This year, Headstart Preschool, located in Villa, celebrated independence with a vibrant series of activities designed to immerse the children in local culture and history.

The week began with a visit to Wind Blow Farm at Calder Ridge, where students were excited to see and learn about the various animals reared there. They also explored the local vegetable market, engaging their senses by identifying, touching, and tasting different produce.

On Thursday, October 24, 2025, the children hosted their annual Independence Exhibition which featured student projects highlighting various aspects of Vincentian culture, showcasing their creativity and dedication.

Principal, Lavinia Francis, expressed her intention to strengthen cultural awareness among her students by collaborating further with the Kalinago community, two of whose members are said to have made a surprise visit with the students. This initiative includes a planned visit to the National Archives, where students can dive deeper into the history and legacy of the Kalinago people.
