Joint funeral to be held for Georgetown siblings
A joint funeral will be held next month for two siblings who died one day apart.
Residents of Georgetown are preparing to bid their final goodbyes to Elerine Cruickshank, who was also known as June Bowens.
The 45 year old woman had been ailing for sometime, and died on Sunday, October 6, 2024.
Her elder brother who was one of her caretakers died suddenly, a mere 24 hours after his sister.
Otie Cruickshank died on Monday October 7, 2024.
The deaths of the Georgetown siblings cast an air of sadness over the Langley Park community.
In a Facebook post former Georgetown resident and broadcaster, Donnie Prince Collins expressed sorrow over the deaths.
As for Otis, he posted “you stood next to me during every moment of my growth and development.”
“The best man at my wedding, my children’s godfather, my brother, my best friend, my business partner, my ride or die, way me ah go do now boi, sleep well my brother, may your soul find peace in the next life.”
A joint funeral is being planned for the brother and sister.
The funeral service will take place on Saturday November 2, 2024, at the Wesleyan Holiness Church in Georgetown, and the bodies will be interred at the Georgetown Cemetery.
The time for the funeral service is yet to be announced.
