Minors appear in court charged with murder of Matthew DaSouza
Two minors appeared at the Serious Offences court today, Friday, October 4, charged with the murder of 13-year-old Mathew Dasouza.
They were charged that on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Sion Hill Bay, with malice aforethought, caused the death of Dasouza by an unlawful act.
The minors, a 15-year-old male, and an 11-year-old female, were remanded in custody.
They are expected to appear at the Kingstown Family Court on Monday, October 7, 2024. The lawyers, Grant Connell and Shirlan Barnwell appeared on behalf of the minors, as friends of the court (amicus).
A post-mortem carried out on, Wednesday, October 2 revealed that Dasouza died as a result of drowning caused by blunt trauma to the head.
