Body found at Gibson Corner identified

The body discovered on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 along the Gibson Corner road, has been identified by the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) as Javier ‘Baryo’ Browne of Chateaubelair.

Initially referred to as John Doe, the male body was later confirmed by the Police on Thursday, October 3, to be that of Browne.

According to the initial police report, the body was found around 6:00 a.m on Wednesday with a single gunshot wound to the back, and no other visible injuries. A post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted to determine the precise cause of death.

There has been online speculation linking Browne to a robbery that occurred the previous night, Tuesday, October 2, at Peruvian Vale. However, the Assistant Commissioner of Police in Charge of Crime, Trevor Bailey, stated that it is an ongoing investigation and was unable to confirm any connection.
