Cuban Engineers in SVG to boost VINLEC’s engineering resources
A three man team of Engineers from Cuba arrived in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 to augment the engineering resources of the St Vincent Electricity Services Limited(VINLEC). The Cubans are in SVG under an agreement between VINLEC and the Electric Union of Cuba.
“The arrival of the engineers opens a new stage of collaboration in this field, which is achieved after the agreement reached between VINLEC and the Cuban Electrical Engineering Services Company SA (SIECSA), Ambassador of Cuba to SVG, Carlos Ectheverry said in a mission post.
The Ambassador encouraged his countrymen to work hard, and remain focussed and disciplined, while expressing his confidence “that they will contribute to this fraternal people with whom Cuba maintains strong relations of friendship and cooperation…”. The team, which was received at the Argyle International Airport by the Ambassador and VINLEC’s Senior Generation Engineer, Rohan Robertson, spent their first day on Vincentian soil in an orientation session at VINLEC. The Cuban Engineers will be here initially for one year.
