UPDATE: Police say no foul play suspected in death of Canouan labourer

Police provided an update regarding a partially decomposed body that was found in Friendship, Canouan.
A subsequent post-mortem examination carried out on Compton’s body on July 24, 2024, determined that the cause of death was due to a Myocardial infarction.
No foul play is suspected.

The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) has launched an investigation into what they describe as a “suspicious death” of a labourer in Canouan.
A release, dated July 24, 2024, said a partially decomposed body was discovered in Friendship.
On July 23, police received a report that the body of a male was found at a house at the above-mentioned location. The deceased has been identified as Carlie Compton, a 58-year-old laborer from Friendship, Canouan. Medical personnel were called to the scene and pronounced him dead.
A postmortem examination will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death. Investigations are ongoing.
The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force say they are committed to conducting a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances leading to Compton’s death and urge anyone with information that could assist with these and other investigations to come forward.
