CK Greaves Companies donate half a million to disaster recovery effort
LOCAL SUPERMARKET CHAIN, CK Greaves and Company is making a huge contribution to the rebuilding process in St Vincent and the Grenadines after the destruction caused by Hurricane Beryl on July 1, 2024.
This was disclosed by Prime Minister, Dr Ralph Gonsalves in response to a question from Opposition Leader Dr Godwin Friday in Parliament last Thursday. Gonsalves said based on a conversation he had with Director Neville Greaves, the company will be assisting with the rebuilding effort to the tune of $500,000.
Materials amounting to this sum will be made available to the government through the Eastern Caribbean Metals company located at Campden Park.
The prime minister explained that as a result of this donation, the Ministry of Housing will have access to materials from the company to repair and rebuild homes for persons who were displaced by Hurricane Beryl’s wrath.
Gonsalves thanked the local family for their generous assistance.
Minister of Finance, Camillo Gonsalves also expressed gratitude to the Greaves family when he spoke in Parliament on Thursday evening, July 18, 2024.
During his presentation of the Supplementary Estimates minister Gonsalves thanked CK Greaves for their “most generous donation to the cause”.
The minister said he had to single out the company for applause and gratitude for their donation.
