New York State Senator supports hurricane relief drive for affected islands
New York State Senator, Kevin Parker, is supporting an initiative by the organisation, ‘Support Every Life Beyond Yours’ (SELBY INC.), in their Hurricane Beryl relief drive to aid the islands affected by the devastating hurricane. The affected islands include St Vincent, Bequia, Union Island, Canouan, Mayreau, Carriacou and Petite Martinique. The collection of essential items takes place from July 3-31, 2024.
“Community support is crucial in times of disaster. We must come together to provide relief andsupport to those affected by Hurricane Beryl. The resilience and strength of our Caribbean brothers and sisters inspire us to act swiftly and generously,” said Senator Kevin Parker.
Donation sites have been established at Downstate Medical Center, God’s Battalion of Prayer, Christ Ambassador Ministries, Brooklyn Community Board 17, and the Council District Office 45. The drive seeks contributions of water, essential medicine, first aid kits, cots, sleeping bags, pillows, sleeping blankets, non-perishable and canned food, flash lights and batteries, soap powder, diapers, wipes and formula, tarpaulin and tents, toiletries, and hygiene kits.
SELBY INC. is dedicated to supporting communities in need, and this relief drive is a testament to their commitment to helping those affected by natural disasters.
