Omani Cupid captures Junior Calypso crown again
Omani Cupid has demonstrated the reason why he is a force to be reckoned with in the calypso ring after winning the Secondary Schools’ Junior Calypso competition for the second consecutive year at the Russel’s Auditorium last Saturday, July 6, 2024.
Second to Cupid was Khristian Christopher with his original piece, ‘Join the fight against crime’; and Kerieka McCaul from the St Joseph Convent Marriaqua, placed third with her song ‘Blame all ah we’.
The other competitors were: Omar Guy from the Sandy Bay Secondary School who sang ‘Yours respectfully’; Abea Matthews from St Joseph’s Convent, Kingstown who did ‘Love is the key’; the Girls’ High School’s Shenea Stephens with ‘Think outside the box’; Philisa McCoy from the Sandy Bay Secondary School whose song was ‘Family days are over’; and Shania Walter of the Dr JP Eustace Memorial Secondary with ‘Youths mental health’.
