Carnival Development Corporation to honour three

Carnival Development Corporation to honour three

Over the years, there are persons and organisations that work, sometimes behind the scenes and tirelessly, to make sure Vincymas is a success.

And, according to Chairman of the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) Ricardo Adams, these people and entities are usually overlooked.

So, with this in mind, this year, the CDC will be honouring former CDC Chairman Dennis Ambrose, CDC employee Fitzgerald ‘John Hinds’ King, and the Nelson Bloc Cultural Organisation.

Ambrose was succeeded by Adams as Chairman of the CDC in 2016, but remained as an advisor on CDC’s Board until last year. King has been a ‘jack of all trades’ at the CDC for many years, assisting with tasks in the main office and at the main carnival venue, the Victoria Park.

Nelson Bloc was started in 1983 and is a 10-time band of the year winner with deep roots in the Paul’s Avenue community. Adams did not say whether these stalwarts will be given their plaudits during the June 28-July 9, 2024, Vincymas national programme.
