Men who earlier pled not guilty to gun charges, granted bail

Two men, who were remanded into custody after pleading not guilty to illegal possession of gun and ammunition, have now been granted bail.

Ronald Audain of Prospect, and Nicholas Audain of Cane Hall, appeared at the Serious Offences Court yesterday June 20, 2024, where they were granted bail for two offences, which they were accused of committing on June 10, 2024 at Arnos Vale.

The men were charged for being in possession of one Smith and Wesson .45 pistol without a licence issued under the Firearms Act.

When the men were arraigned on June 13, 2024, they denied the charges that were laid against them. However, Prosecutor, Renrick Cato objected to them being granted bail because he said they were under investigation for another incident that they may have been involved in.

The men were remanded for one week and were taken back to court yesterday June 20, 2024 where the prosecution had no objection to their bail, but asked for reporting conditions. The men were therefore granted bail in the sum of $30,000 each with one surety. They were also given reporting conditions, and the matter was adjourned to August 19, 2024, for trial.
