Sharpes man shot and killed on his way home
On Monday June 10, Redemption Sharpes resident, Junior Bibby was shot and killed on the road to his Trigger Ridge home at around 10:30 p.m.
Residents in the neighbourhood said they heard around 20 bullets, and when things settled, the 28 year old, man also known as “17” and “Machow”, lay dead. He was shot and killed around the same area where his father, Lloyd “Lazarus” Samuel was shot in 2007.
Those close to Bibby said they were unsure what actually happened, as they did not see Bibby regularly when he started living alone. He kept to himself, working various jobs to support himself.
Residents described the 28-year-old farmer as calm, saying he usually stayed out of trouble. The circumstances surrounding his death have raised some questions within the community as some residents recall that Bibby’s father, Lloyd ‘Lazzo’ Samuel was shot in the head on December 21, 2007, and died a few days later at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.
The police say they have launched an investigation into the death of Bibby, and are asking anyone with pertinent information to contact them.
