Diamond men remanded for alleged wounding and armed robbery
Two Diamond men were remanded into custody pending bail review, for allegedly wounding another man, and committing armed robbery against him.
Diazham Jack and Jevan Dallaway appeared at the Serious Offences Court before Senior Magistrate, Colin John on May 21, 2024. They are charged that on April 23, 2024 at Diamond they did unlawfully and maliciously wound Delarnos Joseph of Lowmans with intent so to do.
They were also charged that on the same date and place, being armed with a piece of wood robbed Delarnos Joseph of Lowmans Windward of EC$910.00 in cash; one gold plated Michael Kors Wie watch valued at EC$800.00; one black ZTE cellular phone valued at $200.00; one black cap value- EC$70.00; one blue short jeans parts value- EC$80.00; a total value of EC$2060.00, and at the time of so doing and in order to do so put the said Delanos Joseph of Lowmans Windward in fear of being then and there subjected to force.
Senior Magistrate John informed the men that the charges are laid indictable so they were not required to plea.
Prosecutor, Renrick Cato requested that the men be remanded for one week because the matter is still being investigated since some of the items have not been recovered.
Dallaway objected to being remanded and denied his involvement in the matter. He also told the court that he has a son to take care of.
Senior Magistrate John granted Cato’s request and adjourned the matter until June 4, 2024 for bail review.
