Former Central Kingstown MP dies

Former Unity Labour Party (ULP) parliamentarian, Conrad Sayers has died after a long medical battle.

Sayers who was 75 years old passed away on December 30, 2023.

Sayers who lived at Redemption Sharpes, was a former Member of Parliament for the constituency of Central Kingstown.

Sayers served as Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 2001.

In 2005, he also served as Minister of State in the office of the Prime Minister.

Sayers was elected as Member of Parliament for Central Kingstown in 2001 and again in 2005.

Before entering politics, Sayers worked at the Ministry of Agriculture. He also served as President of the Public Service Union.

On its Facebook page, the ULP expressed condolences to relatives and friends of Conrad Sayers.
