Customs Officer retains ‘Bring Your Song and Come’ crown

Customs Officer Uriah Lyttle with his song ‘Customs Seize’, won the finals of the 2023 ‘Bring Your Song and Come’ competition of the National Nine Mornings Festival on Sunday, December 24, 2023.

The song competition, which forms part of the annual Nine Mornings Festival held at Heritage Square sees competitors singing compositions either written by them or a friend, and this year, the top five finishers shared EC$5,000 among them and each received a mobile phone from Digicel.

Lyttle, who also won the 2022 title, defeated Nyesha Richards into second place, and Amelia Jones into third; they received $1,500, $1,000 and $750 respectively.

Meanwhile, member of the National Nine Mornings Committee Lennox Bowman announced the winners of the Best Lit Houses – commercial and residential during Sunday morning’s festivities.

Jimmy Samuel of Rillan Hill won the Best Lit House overall title, with Olivia DaSilva of Cane End taking the second spot, Moketo Stanley of Chancey placing third.

Villa Top Gardens of the Hull’s residence won the Best Lit Garden overall title, Roseau Recreational Park took the second spot, and Richmond Hill Gardens the third spot.

Bequia Port Elizabeth won the Best Lit Community title, Rose Hall Works placed second, and third place went to Point Village.

The Best Nativity Scene national title went to Rose Hall, Roseau Recreational Park placed second, while Carol and Anthony Jardine of Georgetown placed third.

Coreas City Store won the Best Lit Commercial building, with Clear Harbour 1 and Clear Harbour 2 taking the second spot, and Jax the third spot.
