National Prosecution Services hosts Criminal Justice Conference
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions – National Prosecution Service this week hosted its biennial Criminal Justice stakeholder’s forum ALRIGHT, first held in 2017.
ALRIGHT is the acronym for Applying Lawful Responses to Intercepting Gangsters Hustlers and Transgressors. ALRIGHT is an interdisciplinary criminal stakeholder forum which seeks to review, refine and devise Criminal Justice solutions to improve the Criminal Justice System in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).
This year’s training was conducted over three days under the theme: “UnLTD: Uniting Leaders for Transformative Decision-making”.
On November 23 and 24, there was a two-day Live Exercise, while the Conference culminated on Wednesday, November 29 with a Leadership Caucus at the National Insurance Service’s Conference Room.
At the Leadership Caucus, senior officials from the Ministry of National Security, top Cops from the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force, Senior Counsel of the Attorney General’s Chambers and the DPP’s Office delved into a number of issues impacting the swift delivery of criminal justice, including forensic solutions to crime and timelines regarding the submission and completion of files.
