Troumaca Ontario retains schools road relay with new record time

AJ Delpesche anchored the Troumaca-Ontario Secondary School to victory in the October 12 St Vincent and the Grenadines Secondary Schools Road Relay, to win the Boys’ title in grand style, with a new route record time over the six legs in a time of 52 minutes 22.20 seconds.

Taking the silver medal position was the St Martin’s Secondary School in a time of 52 minutes 45.90 seconds, while capturing the bronze position was the Petit Bordel Secondary School in a time of 53 minutes 57.60 seconds.

Georgetown Secondary crossed the finish line in fourth place in a time of 54 minutes 36.30 seconds; Central Leeward was fifth in a time of 54 minutes 42.00 seconds, Bethel High sixth in 57 minutes 59.10 seconds, and Thomas Saunders seventh in 58 minutes 43.70 seconds.

Meanwhile the girls from the Central Leeward Secondary School also retained their St Vincent and the Grenadines Secondary Schools Road Relay Girls’ title in a time of 1 hour 17 minutes 29.00 seconds, ahead of the Troumaca-Ontario Secondary School in second place with a time of 1 hour 20 minutes 13.00 seconds.

Third was the Girls’ High School in a time of 1 hour 22 minutes 34.00 seconds, fourth was the West St George Secondary School in 1 hour 24 minutes’ 51.00 seconds, the Georgetown Secondary crossed in fifth place in 1 hour 24 minutes 51.00 seconds, the Buccament Bay Secondary crossed the finish line in sixth place with a time of 1 hour 25 minutes 23.00 seconds, seventh was the Sandy Bay Secondary School in a time of 1 hour 26 minutes 30.00 seconds, and Dr. J.P. Eustace Secondary was eighth in 1 hour 30 minutes 04.00 seconds.

The secondary schools will clash again next week Thursday when the 2023 St Vincent and the Grenadines Secondary Schools Cross Country race is held on the decommissioned E.T. Joshua Airport circuit.
