Motor biker still unresponsive following weekend crash

Dario Browne, the young man who was injured in an accident while riding his motorcycle on Sunday September 23 is still unresponsive.

Browne is at the Southern Medical Centre in San Fernando Trinidad, receiving treatment for injuries he sustained in the accident.

His aunt Shelly Browne told SEARCHLIGHT that Dario has had two surgeries since arriving in Trinidad, but he is yet to regain consciousness.

“His condition is still the same, he is still in a coma, it’s a wait and see situation,” Browne said on Wednesday.

She explained that Dario had surgery on his spine and also on one of his hands.

His mother, Lulu Browne of South Rivers accompanied him to Trinidad to seek further medical attention.

The 30-year-old VINLEC employee was left with severe brain and spinal injuries as a result of the accident.

His spine is reportedly fractured in six places and he also suffered fractures to his ribs and broken limbs.

“The doctors can’t say how long it will take for him to wake up; but we are hoping and praying that he will wake up someday.”

The Fair Hall resident expressed sincere gratitude to all persons who have shown love and support to the family, especially to those who continually pray for Dario.

With medical bills now climbing, efforts are being made to raise funds to settle these bills.

Persons can also donate to Dario’s medical bills by making deposits to account 135319 at BOSVG.

Dario is the father of one year old Darius Browne also of South Rivers.

The accident, which took place at San Souci, involved Dario’s motorcycle and two other vehicles.
